I am terribly sorry to read of Curt's death. As boys growing up, we had an awful lot of fun. A favorite memory of mine was the time we tried to ride his bike down the big hill without a chain, since no chain meant no brakes. The wreck was epic. He was a natural daredevil at the time. Though I've not seen him in many years, I'm sure he was a great dad and husband as well as son, brother and friend. My heartfelt condolences to all of you in your time of grief.

Condolences to Jean Bailey, Holly Bailey and his family. I have known Curt since he was born. For a period of my life I was Curt's Uncle. I remember in 1977 after Curt had enlisted in the Air Force and was at his AF Tech School he called me and asked if I could get him stationed with us at Offutt AFB Nebraska. I did that. Before Curt's Tech School was completed his Mom and Dad came to visit us at Offutt. I introduced them to Curt's soon to be First Sergeant, Commander and the troops in his new duty section. After Curt arrived he stayed with us for a couple of weeks and after in processing he came home and said that it was real weird that people kept asking how his Mom and Dad were as they already knew them! Curt was at my party celebrating my promotion to Chief Master Sergeant. He was telling everybody that's my “Uncle Chief”, which made my promotion more special. After I was retired I stayed with Curt and Holly in Germany while waiting to catch an Air Force Hop back to the states after visiting my son Bob Betts Jr. at Ramstein AB Germany. Special memories. Curt will be remembered as a friend, one time nephew, and fellow Air Force Retiree! God Bless his family. Bob Betts CMSgt, USAF Ret.

Curtis was a friend and at one point in my life I was his uncle and he is an Air Force Retiree as am I.
I remember when Curt was finishing Air Force Tech School in 1977 and asked me if I could arrange for him to be assigned to Offutt AFB, Nebraska where we were. I did that, but before he arrived his Mom and Dad came to visit us and I introduced them to his First Sergeant, Commander, and the troops he would be working with. Curtis stayed with us for a few weeks upon his arrival. After processing in for the first couple of days he came home and said that it was weird that people were asking how his Mom and Dad were as they had already met them. Curtis was at my Promotion to Chief Master Sergeant, he kept telling everyone "that's my Uncle Chief".
Years later after I was retired I stayed with Curt and Holly at Sembach AB Germany while I was waiting for a Military Hop back to the states after visiting my son Bob Jr at Ramstein AB, Germany. I have known Curtis since he was born.Good memories, He holds a special place in my heart. God Bless Curtis and his family. Bob Betts CMSgt USAF, retired.
