Cynthia Nicholas Obituary

Nicholas

Cynthia (Stafford) Nicholas

November 15, 1962

November 21, 2021

Cynthia Ann Nicholas will be missed by all who knew her. She fought a courageous battle with breast cancer, never losing her strong, positive spirit. She passed away on Sunday, November 21st surrounded by her family at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, California.

Cindy was born in Camden, New Jersey on November 15th, 1962 to Loretta Keener and John Stafford. She grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, then moved to Orange County, California in 1978. After graduating high school at Villa Park in Villa Park, California, she received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from San Diego State University and a Master's Degree in Education from National University.

Cindy dedicated over 30 years to coaching students as a Career Counselor at National University where she was passionate about helping her students achieve professional and personal success. Cindy made lasting friendships with her infectious positivity and her ability to light up any room. She laughed generously and loved deeply. Her kids' biggest fan, she never missed a soccer, volleyball, or baseball game, and she and her husband Bob spent many weekends traveling across San Diego to the kids' sporting events. Aside from her own friendships, she cherished those of her children. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Cindy will never forget how easily she made them feel like a valued friend.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Bob Nicholas of San Diego, CA, who lovingly stood alongside her for the last 26 years, and by her three biggest accomplishments, her children Carly, Katie, and Ryan. She is also survived by her mother Loretta Keener of Laguna Niguel, CA, her father John Stafford of Colorado Springs, and her brother Greg Stafford of Colorado Springs. They will forever hold her memory in their hearts and carry on her legacy by loving deeply, laughing often, and radiating strength and positivity through the journey of life.

Please join us for her memorial service at Singing Hills Memorial Park (2800 Dehesa Rd, El Cajon, CA 92019) on Friday, December 10th, 2021 at 10am. Following the service, her family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at Santee Lakes (9310 Fanita Parkway, Santee, CA 92071) at 12pm at Lake 5.
