Dale Duncan Obituary

Duncan
DALE LEWIS DUNCAN
1931 - 2020

Dale Duncan was born in Lamar Colorado August 2, 1931. He passed away in his home November 28, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janet L. Duncan and 5 children. Denise Bonds, Danelle Meyerly, Devonne Nations, Dan Duncan and Dana Duncan. As well as 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Dale is noted for his chain of grocery stores throughout Colorado. The first location was opened in Woodland Park, CO in 1965. While experiencing great success, he sold the chain and moved into banking. He then became Board Chairman of a very successful, fast growing bank. Soon after, he added a chain of banks in the Denver region to his accomplishments.
Animals were always close to his heart. Dale had love of horses and dogs.
Dale supported Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers.
A celebration of Dale's life will be held on Aug 2, as his 90th birthday.

Sad to see Dales passing, he was an inspiration and a mentor. My thoughts are with Dales family.

I remember Dale when I was only 10 years old and my mother used to work for him at the Safeway that way on south Tejon. That was in the early 60's. My mother thought very highly of him and he was so nice to me. So sorry for your loss. Carol (Coca) Rice.
