I first met Dale when my family and I returned to Colorado Springs after I got out of the Air Force; shortly before he and my mother were married. He was not my father, and he never tried to be. What he was to me was a great friend. He was a man that made my mother very happy. He was always a true gentleman. He was a man of God. He was the definitive teacher, even when he wasn't trying to be. Sometimes he taught simply through the manner in which he carried himself. For everything he was, I will forever be grateful to have had the privilege to know Dr. Dale E. Traylor. Peace be with you, Dale. We'll miss you.
