Dallam E. Blandy
Dallam E. Blandy, Jr., 85, of Bethlehem, PA, died Thursday, August 1, 2013. Born in Schenectady, NY on October 25, 1927 and brought up in Albany, NY, he was the son of Dallam E. Blandy, Sr. and Ruth (Thomas) Blandy. Dal Blandy graduated from Taft School in Watertown, CT in 1946 and from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering in 1950. Upon graduation from college, he worked in the Sales Department of Corning Glass Works in Corning, NY and St. Louis. My sincere sympathy to all of you. Dal was just an outstanding man. I had the utmost respect for him. When he came to us at Applied Separations, he brought, not only expertise, but character and integrity. Dal was a member of the team that could always be counted on. He sponsored me into Rotary, giving me insight into “service above self”. He was my colleague, my friend, and even my older brother. The sun shines a little less brightly without Dal. We will all miss him.
