Dan LeRoy Obituary

Dan E. LeRoy, a longtime Colorado Springs businessman, died Dec. 4, 2013. He was 86.

Mr. LeRoy was born March 11, 1927, in Hotchkiss, CO. He is survived by his wife, Agnes; three daughters, Danna (Dave) Hamling of Larkspur, CO., Nancy (Larry) Lopez of Pueblo, CO; Janet "Susie" LeRoy of Lamar, CO; three grandchildren, Drew (Laura) Parker of Denver; Janet (Doug) Vilsack of Denver; Gregory (Alyssa) Lopez of Denver; two great-grandchildren, Aston Parker and Payson Parker, both of Denver. Preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Martin.

Mr. LeRoy served in the U.S. Navy as a pharmacist technician following his graduation from Hotchkiss High School in 1945. He moved to Colorado Springs in 1962 and built his commercial furniture and carpeting career over the next 49 years. He worked nine years for Kistler Office Furniture before becoming a partner in Out West Furniture in 1972. He later was owner/CEO of Centennial Company and Dan LeRoy Associates until his retirement in 2011 at the age of 84.

Mr. LeRoy was a past school board member for Harrison High School and St. Mary's High School. He was a longtime member of the El Paso Club. He particularly enjoyed his "Saturday Lunch Bunch," first at the El Paso Club and later the Bean Bandit restaurant.

At Mr. LeRoy's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
