Daniel R. Davila (USAF Ret.] age 70 of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully in his sleep the morning of Saturday, October 29th 2022 with his daughter at his bedside.
Daniel, a.k.a. "Danny D", was born on Sept. 13, 1952, in Corpus Christi, TX to his to mother Carolina Rangel Davila and his father Gilbert 'Papo' Davila and 5 siblings. Daniel graduated from W.B. Ray High School and then enrolled into the United Stated Air Force in 1972 where he served as a logistics and admin technician during the Vietnam War before being honorably discharged in 1976. After the Air Force, Daniel moved to Austin where he found his second calling as a teacher and corporate trainer, which he did from the mid-80s through the early 90s. Daniel eventually moved to Denver, Colorado and continued his work as a corporate trainer/educator until the early 2000s when his health forced him into early retirement and then moved to Colorado Springs to be closer to his daughter. Embracing the retired life, Danny got involved with local democratic support groups and eventually became a county election official helping with several local and national elections. In 2007, he adopted the only 4-legged love of his life - Murphy who he showered with love and spoiled with treats for the next 12 years.
As Danny leaves the earthly plane, he will be entering a new, beautiful place that is free of pain with no restraints and a place where he will be rejoined with his parents, siblings and his beloved daughter Tara. The joy and happiness that Danny injected into the lives of his friends and family will always be felt and appreciated for years to come. RIP Danny "D"!
He is survived by his daughter Cassondra, his sister Mary Alice and his brother Eddie along with tons of family and friends that will always remember the positive impact he had on their lives.
In accordance with Danny's final wishes, we will have an interment ceremony at the following location:

My condolences to all of Danny's family and friends. Uncle Dan as I knew him and his nephew Edward Davila were 2 of my closest friends when I lived in San Antonio. We shared beautiful memories. We got to live together with other friends for over a year and we all bonded. When his nephew Edward passed away it tore me up. I moved away from San Antonio and I think that's when uncle Dan also left. I got to see him a year or 2 ago in Corpus Christi. He was visiting family and I had moved to Harlingen Texas. I will miss you my friend. Till we see each other again. Love you. Eloy Hernandez

My condolences to all of " Uncle Dan's" family as I knew him. I was fortunate meet Dan and his nephew Edward Davila who has also passed away. I'm sad to say I just now found out of his passing. I was just talking with a friend and she asked me about Uncle Dan. I told her he was on Facebook so here I look on Facebook and find out he passed away. We called him Uncle Dan cause he was Edward's uncle. He lived with me and a few other friends. We shared many wonderful memories memories with him and his nephew and their San Antonio family. I love and will miss you uncle Dan. You are a one of a kind and a beautiful soul. Till we meet again. Your friend in Harlingen, Texas

My dearest Daniel, we were pals since age 12. You were always in my life. I know you are resting now. You fought so hard but always knew that God would come for you when it was time and you were fine with that. I miss you so very much,Danny.
