I have just come across this notice and so mourn dear Dan and Eileen Furzi! What a lovely couple; so full of life and the spirit of the Lord. My time in Colorado Springs was brief, but I count knowing the Furzi's as one of my blessings there. God bless you Mary, and family. Your parents were joys, as are you. So many were touched by their goodness and charm. They will be remembered and missed! With love...

Working beside Dan at the Widefield Community Center for 13 years, he was my mentor and dear friend. Dan and Eileen helped to celebrate my marriage and the birth of my children. I was fortunate to watch their children grow into beautiful adults. Dan was the perfect "PAPA" to his grandkids. The Community has lost a family member who positively influenced churches, business', goodwill organizations, school districts, recreation/community education services, music enthusiast, sports lovers, children and adults alike. I will love you forever, my big Italian friend! Blessings to his family and friends.

Mr. Furzi was such a kind man throughout the many years at Holy Family and Saint Dominic's. We have been truly blessed with his example of kindness sharing his God given talents at our masses. You will be remembered and missed.

Dan was one of my first good friends as I began teaching in Widefield. I recall Jaycee "road trips with Dan and the Yorke brothers and the fun we had. His "Light A Candle" campaign made the Park & Rec Fields so much better. "Countless" is not a euphemism when it comes to describing the manner and ways Dan served his community and his family. May memories of the Joy that Dan lived soften the pain of his passing.

My memories of Dan go back to my high school days (late 1970's), when I remember playing a couple of jazz gigs with him. Fast forward to the past few years, and I still would run into Dan at the middle school where I taught because he had grandkids there. I would also see him at regional honor bands supporting his grandkids who were playing in the bands. Always such a kind gentleman, and always remembered me after all these years. My deepest condolences to the entire Furzi family.

Sincere sympathy to the family. Dan was my Junior High band director. I remember he wrote the school song for Sproul Junior High. I played saxaphone in the band - my favorite concert was when we preformed songs from South Pacific. Dan also helped me get my first teaching position at Webster Elementary and was such a great mentor. He had the best sense of humor! I will truly miss him. God bless the family at this difficult time.

Always a jokester he was. Playing golf with him one day he said" Well I finally broke 100 and am happy as can be. BUT do we have to play the back nine". His smile and humor was infectious and we will miss him. Dan save me a tee time and we'll play again soon.

So sorry for your loss...I went to Sproul Jr. High and had Mr. Furzi for music. I was very shy and taking a class like that was scary for me but this man started to bring me out of my shell. What a blessing he was.

My deepest condolences. Uncle Dan was truly one of the all around good guys. Positive, compassionate, smart, and creative only touch on his attributes which will be greatly missed. Fond memories of visiting with Uncle Dan in Trinidad, Security, San Antonio and on the phone over our friendly Buffalo-Longhorn football rivalry.
My family's prayers are with Elaine, Mary, Gino and their families always.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Furzi and his family about 10 years ago. He gave me a rocking horse for my son, that had passed from his children to his grandchildren. He had a heart of gold and will be missed terribly. My prayers go out to his family.

Dan was one of the sweetest men I have ever known. I had the pleasure to to spend a lot of time with Dan and Eileen, I loved them both and it gives me great comfort knowing they are together again. My deepest condolences. The Furzi family has touched my life in so many ways. Mrs. Furzi was my 3rd grade teacher, and I sang in the church choir with Dan and Mary. I can't begin to tell you all the wonderful stories of how the Furzi's have impacted my life today. What a legacy Dan has left for future generations. You will be missed greatly. You are now with your beautiful wife and a loving God that will bless you for your faithfulness here on this earth. My prayers are with your family and friends.Riposare in pace!

Mr. Furzi was my 5th and 6th grade basketball coach. It was a sport I did not have a lot of confidence to try, but he was so encouraging and kind. I was so glad I played. It was a great memory from 30 years ago, that I still share with my son. God bless your family.

My condolences to everyone.
Mr. Furzi as I called him back when I was just a junior high school kid playing the Elks Club, VFW etc.. with my dad (Gil Arvizu) on Sax and Dan on Keyboard singing with that incredible smile.
I played guitar and it was an honor to play with Mr. Furzi.

Mr. Furzi was my 5th and 6th grade basketball coach at Webster elementary. I will never forget his teachings about the game of basketball nor will I forget his manner and kind nature. I know coach Furzi stayed in the community for years and continued to influence many other people in the same fashion. RIP Coach and much gratitude for the example you set for me in life. My prayers go out to your family. Until we meet again...
