It's been 7 years and I sometimes think about the times Dan and I spent time together. We would always drink a beer or two on our birthday and scout deer hunting places in late August and into September in preparation for the opening day of Deer Hunting Season. He was a good friend.

Dan was one of the first people to say hi to me when I started working on the floor after I transferred from the Post Office in Iowa. At that time my family was living in Woodland Park too. He was unfailingly polite and willing to answer all my questions With a smile while we worked together. He will be missed.

I met Dan over 37 years ago at the General Mail Facility. My first day on the job he introduced himself to me. Since then we shared many lunches, laughs, stories and drank our fair share of beer. He would visit me at home and I would travel to Woodland Park to visit him. We scouted many hunting places just before deer season. He was one of the best deer hunting friends I truly enjoyed. I will have many fond memories of him.

I was shocked to see Dan's obituary in the paper today. I first worked with Dan at the Colorado Springs Post Office 30 years ago. I always enjoyed working and talking with Dan. He was a good man. He will be missed.
