Daniel Sollee Obituary

Sollee, Jr.
DANIEL "DAN" A SOLLEE, JR.
March 21, 1973 October 26, 2018
At over 6'4" Dan was a gentle giant. He will be remembered fondly by his family and friends for his sense of humor, kind gentle nature, patience, and keen wit. He loved doing anything in the mountains including skiing, mountain biking, hiking, camping and most recently fishing with his son. He also did woodworking, refinishing furniture and would have loved to design and build his own furniture. He loved kids and was looking forward to be able to do some coaching again. Dan was a music lover, a fount of trivia, and had an uncanny ability to quote movies.
Dan was born in New Jersey, but from the age of 4 on, he spent the rest of his life living in Colorado. He graduated high school in Colorado Springs in 1991, where he lettered in varsity football and basketball. He put himself through college, by bartending, at CSU in Ft Collins. While in college Dan was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity and made many life-long friends that he greatly valued.
Dan and his family lived several years in Colorado Springs, where he worked as an assistant superintendent for Keller Homes. They returned to Ft Collins while he worked for the railroad for several years. Most recently, he had been working back in the field he loved, which was home building, as a superintendent for a home builder in that area. Dan was honest and extremely hard-working.
Dan will be remembered with much love by those he leaves behind, his wife Meagan, two children who meant the world to him, daughter, Ashton and son, Quinn; his mom, Nancy Sollee, dad, Dr. Dan (Esther) Sollee, sister, Tina (Tom) Adams, grandma, Jewel Schneider, Uncle Dan and Diane Schneider , Aunt Cindy and Dick Gulisano, Aunt Leslie and Maurice Weinreis, several cousins, and many friends. He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Gus Schneider, Frank and Johnnie Sollee, cousin Jonathan, and Aunt Frankie.
Dan will be truly missed everyday.

So sorry hearing this. Danny and I were high school sweethearts. I have fond memories of our group of friends at Proms, Homecoming etc. He taught me how to ski. And I went on my first hikes with him and his family. He also introduced Ft Collins to me and CSU. Prayers to his family and kiddos. So sorry for this loss. He was a wonderful person.
