Daniel Thompson Obituary

Dan, of Otis, CO and previous resident of Colorado Springs, passed away unexpectedly on October 24, 2011 due to a tragic truck accident. Dan was born on April 16, 1951 to Woodie L. and Catherine V. Thompson in Meridian, MS. He was a Viet Nam Vet. Dan married his beloved wife Alma on Dec 10, 1978. He logged countless miles trucking all over the country during the past 30 years. Dan is survived by his wife Alma, parents Woodie and Catherine of Colorado Springs, son Bob (Nichole) Sterling, daughter Cheryl Ann (Mark), two sisters Cathy (Gale) Hatfield and Margaret (Joel) Mays, both of Colorado Springs, two brothers Robert (Yvette) of Colorado Springs and Craig (Ruth) of Forest, MS., three grandchildren, numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents and two nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dan Thompson memorial fund for his family at The Farmers State Bank, P.O. Box 300, Akron, CO. 80730. Funeral is pending.

Danny, your untimely passing leaves a void in the hearts and lives of all who knew and loved you. My deepest sympathy and condolences go out to your wife Alma and your children, your mom Virginia, your dad Woody, your brothers and sisters and the rest of the family who deeply mourn you passing. Uncle Danny, your candle burned out way too soon. I will forever cherish the times you spent with us sharing laughs and funny stories. My heart goes out to Alma and the kids...I know you are watching over them.
