Darek Jerome McGhee was born on August 1st, 1959 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from Doherty High School in 1977 and was a graduate of The University of Northern Colorado. He is proceeded in death by his mother Lucy Allen and his father Jacob McGhee Sr. Darek is survived by his 2 brothers Jacob McGhee Jr. and Renee McGhee; 3 daugthers Tamara McGhee (Ochoa), Tenise McGhee (Hordge)and Veronica Bell; 5 grandchildren and a host of cousins and friends. Due to covid a memorial service will be held in the near future.

Darek and I were friends at the University of Northern CO. We had every class together for 2 years, and shared some wonderful times. He was kind, generous and funny. I am very sad to hear of his passing and I offer my condolences and prayers for his daughters, Jacob and other family members.
