Mr. Higman was my track coach at North. His family became my friends as they followed my track career through high school. When I was drafted in 1972 the Navy man convinced me to join the Navy rather than be inducted into the Army. He was always wise council to me.

Two fond memories to share: Mr. Higman loaned me his Datsun 280Z while my car was in the shop and his kindness in gifting tickets for a tour of the White House. My most sincere condolences to Chris, Darren and Penny.
