Dave Aceves Obituary

Dave Aceves, age 76 went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2008. Dave was born in Las Animas, Colorado and moved to Colorado Springs in 1972. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dora (Moreno) Aceves, whom he married in September of 1955. He will be missed greatly by his daughters and their families, Elaine Serrano (daughter), Curtis( Brenda)Aceves (grandson), Anthony Aceves (great grandson), Dominique Aceves (great granddaughter),Doreesa (Maurice) Serrano-Walton(granddaughter), Maliq Walton(great grandson), Mariah Serrano-Walton(great granddaughter); Kathy Nieves (daughter), Sonia Nieves (granddaughter), Bianca Nieves (granddaughter); Kristel Gumataotao(Roy Ballesteros)(daughter/son in law), Bronte Gumataotao (granddaughter), Mitchell Gumataotao(grandson), Carla Valdez(niece); Joe Aceves(brother); Mary Aceves(sister), Isabel Aceves(sister) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, loved ones, friends and his beloved and loyal companion "Chico". Dave proudly served in the Navy and was stationed in Hawaii. Dave had been Chief of Police in La Junta, Colorado, worked in the State Employment office and repaired typewriters. A Rosary and Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2008 between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM and the Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 10:00 AM with the burial to follow. Both will be at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church located at 3122 Poinsetta Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907.
