David Arnold Obituary

Beloved David (Dave) Edward Arnold passed away on September 25, 2016, surrounded by loved ones. David was born the eldest of five children to Edward and Lorraine Arnold on May 8, 1948, in Jackson, Michigan.

He graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1970, and earned degrees in business and education. He also completed a Masters Degree in Secondary Educational Leadership.

David was a teacher and coach for thirty years in Clinton, Michigan, before moving to Colorado in 2004. He enjoyed teaching, coaching, and working with families and children throughout his life. He was an excellent role model and touched many lives.

David was a renaissance man having many interests and passions including traveling, bicycling, hiking, football, basketball, riding his Harley with his wife, Elaine, sitting behind him, community volunteering, writing, farming, training horses, music (especially country and celtic), and he could fix and improve anything. His love of nature and enjoyment of animals was evident and he was affectionately considered to be an "animal whisperer" by his grandchildren.

David is dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed. He lived each day fully and possessed a gracious, kind spirit with a loving, giving heart. David will be remembered for his love of his family, his strength and gentleness, empathy for all, sense of humor, his smile, laughter and warm deep voice.

David is survived by his loving wife, Elaine; children, Nathan (Sarah) Arnold, Jacob (Suzanne) Arnold, Rachel (Dean) Kreuzer; stepchildren, Brett Andrus, Ashlynn (Beau) Smith; 12 grandchildren; sisters, Linda Arnold, Karen Arnold, Cynthia (Shane) Slowinski; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lorraine Arnold and his sister, Patricia Arnold.

A memorial service will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, October 29, 2016, Latigo Equestrian Center, 13710 Halleluiah Trail, Falcon, CO, 80831, (719) 495-0176.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Saint Jude Children's Cancer Research Hospital, P.O. Box 474 Memphis, TN 38101-9958, (1-800) 395-1087.

By love, David is remembered, and in memory, David lives in our hearts...

Mr Arnold was a great teacher. I do respected him with his commitment not only to teaching but also showing he cared. Today we also mourn one of his former colleagues. David Pray. Both of these men weee awesome role models for me as I was without a father at the age of 8 due to cancer that took our father“s life at 46. Our mother raised 6 out of 10 children alone. I was from the Class of 1984 at Clinton Schools. However, our mother moved us from Willow Road into the town of Saline and my younger brother and I were the only ones to have graduated from Saline HS instead of Clinton HS.
In His Grip!

The entire Ingersoll family. As of last year 6 out of 10 of us siblings have now gone to Heaven.

Mr. Arnold was the epitome of what it meant to be a fair, just, kind and caring individual. He left an indelible mark on my life as a pre-teen and taught me the importance of respect for others and my fellow students.

My prayers go out to his wife, children and the entire family.

Mr. Arnold left an indelible mark on my life as a pre-teen growing up in a large family with a mother who was a widow and left with several children to care for on her own. He taught teamwork as a coach. He taught integrity and what it meant to follow through on your commitments, especially your education. He taught how to be respectful and kind to your fellow students on campus. I'm sad for his passing. However, I am sure that God has already told him "Well done good and faithful servant."

Prayers go out to his wife and children and his entire family and circle of close friends. My prayers will be for comfort and asking God to let them know that his entire family will always be In His Grip!
