David Howard Brooks, 73, of Penrose, Colorado, passed away on January 26, 2024. Born in San Francisco, California, on July 24, 1950, to Billy and Opal "Hope" (Pederson) Brooks, David's adventurous spirit and profound faith defined his life. He served the United States proudly in the Navy during the Vietnam Era. David was a world traveler, lived in Guam, Hawaii, and Japan, and travelled to all 50 states, Europe, and Asia.
David's faith and family meant everything to him. He found immense joy in sharing his faith and love of the Lord. He is now where he always wanted to be, in Heaven with the Lord.
He leaves behind a loving family: sons Matthew (Nevena) and Luke; daughter Alana; twin brother Darrell (Cheryl); sisters Barbara Potts and Nancy Kowal; and his cherished grandsons Caleb and Max. He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Hope.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the ER and ICU staff at St. Thomas More Hospital for their exceptional care and efforts.
A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held at 3 PM on February 24th at Solid Rock Christian Fellowship, 4501 Bear Paw Road, Florence, CO 81226.
