David Dairy Obituary

David Leo Dairy, 79, a native of Colorado, died of pulmonary fibrosis on September 23, 2016. He was born October 16, 1936 to Robert L. and Lorna (Dorlac) Dairy in Colorado Springs.

He graduated from Colorado Springs High School (now known as Palmer) in 1955. He was accepted to Colorado College and earned a business degree. He joined the Army and had reached the rank of first lieutenant stationed in Ft. Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina where he met his wife, Betty. They were married July 5, 1963 in Shove Chapel, Colorado Springs.

He spent his career as an automotive representative with Buick Motor Division, Winnebago, and Starcraft. His business took him to St. Louis, Chicago, Bismarck, North Dakota, and Mason City, Iowa, before returning to Colorado Springs. He enjoyed his retirement, working for a number of years as a marshal and starter for the Broadmoor Golf Club.

David was married to Betty for 52 years, who survives; as well as three daughters: Julie (Troy) Abeyta, Nicole Dairy, and Lorna Lanette (Robbie) Effinger; and their children: Sienna, Ryen, Nicholas and Keenan Abeyta, and Stella Effinger; and his beloved little Havanese, Izumi.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou, Colorado Springs, on Monday, October 10, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Tim McConnell presiding.
