Dr. DuBois saved my ankle which was almost completed amputated from a car crash when I was a cadet at USAFA in the fall of 1983. It only had a 5% chance of the skin graft taking and it did. He did further plastic surgeries during my long stay in the hospital and afterwards. I am forever grateful to him and the rest of my medical team. I have recently written a national best selling book recalling my NDE called, You Are Deathless.

David and grew up together in McCallsburg IA. I have many memories and pictures of our days together. If the jeep still has a small dent in the right front fender I have that story and many others during our youth years.

I lived down the street from David in McCallsburg. Since he was 3 years older than me he was my idle. I wanted to be just like David so I brushed my hair to make it stand up in a flat top, picked the trumpet for my band instrument so I could play along side him in the band. He was a great friend and role model and I knew he would be a great doctor and person.

David was a colleague and friend. He always conducted himself, both professionally and personally, with openness and honesty. He communicated with good humor until his last days when he became too weak for conversation.

Suzanne - Though it has been many years since we worked together, I have fond memories of hearing about your wonderful husband and family. As a speech-language pathologist, I remember all that David contributed to so many children who required surgery repairs for cleft lip and palate.
I send my condolences to all of you.

Always loved it when Dave and Suzanne visited me in Charleston, SC. All are welcome to come and take long walks by the ocean and maybe find some peace when the sun sets in the Holy City.
