David Flora Obituary

David William Flora, 31, of Clay City, passed away unexpectedly, January 5, 2010 at his residence. He was born April 27, 1978 in Tarzana, California to William David and Ronnette Marie (Galarneau) Flora. He grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. David married Danielle (Kirkling) Jenkins October 13, 2001 Clay City. Together he and Danielle owned and operated the Pizza Gallery in Clay City. He worked for U.S. Securities, at Staples Distribution, in Terre Haute for the past 3 years. He enjoyed fishing especially Jugging for catfish; watching football, Cubs Baseball and basketball. David also enjoyed coaching Clay City Youth League baseball for his step sons and traveling with Danielle's sister and brother-in-law. He is survived by his wife Danielle; two step sons Tyler and Tanner Jenkins; mother Ronnie Williams of Chicago, IL; father Bill Flora and wife Polly of Southern Florida; sisters Nicole "Nikki" Hepperle and husband Brian and Noelle Flora; a brother Matthew Flora and wife Charlie; step brothers Eric Nauert and Jason Nauert; as well as 6 nieces and 4 nephews. A memorial service will be Friday January 8, 2010 at 3:00pm at First United Church of Christ 6414 S. Co. Rd. 300 E. Clay City, IN with Pastor Julie Western officiating. Visitation will be at the church Friday from 2:00pm until time of service. At his request cremation has been chosen. Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City has been entrusted with his care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Clay City Youth League P.O. Box 71 Clay City, IN 47841 or the Clay City High School Sports Boosters 601 Lankford St. Clay City, IN 47841. David and I used to work the night shift together at Brazil 70. Missed him when he quit. Missed his sense of humor and his smile. I am very sorry for your loss and he will be sadley missed.
