David Haddan Obituary

To the Colorado Springs Police Department and the United States Marine Corps; thank you from from bottom of my heart for your tremendous tribute to my dad. I came away from his funeral services yesterday with a feeling of pride and the knowledge that this man got honor he deserved. To the Swan Law Mortuary, Chris in particular, you are an absolutely amazing individual! I could not have gotten through this without your genuine care and concern. Thank you Chris. To Reverends Frank and Linda Hoover, I have no words.....you both are a blessing! To Pastor Mel @ the New Life Church, God Bless you for your giving heart!

To the Dave Haddan family, My thoughts, prayers, and memories of Dave go out to you all at this time. I had the honor to know Dave during my years on the CSPD. He was a mentor and friend throughout my career and one of the " Ole Heads " who I got a kick out of when he addressed me as " Huey ." When sitting with him back in the jail, his talks were always interesting, and fun, and he had his way of making sure that you were paying attention. Myself and other younger officers were very impressed with him playing Football in the Toy Bowl. His strength and speed at the time was something to see, and he made himself felt
by any opponent. It is that strength of character and also his gentle way, that I will always remember him for, and that head tilting glint in his eye. It was an Honor and a Pleasure to have Known the MAN.

February 20, 2014 will be a day I will always cherish, a sorrowful day but also a happy day. I always knew what a good man my father was, but to see how many lifes he touched in so many ways is etched deep in my heart. Thank you so much to the Colo Spgs police department, the United States Marines, and Swan-Law for the exceptional , send off, it was to say the least a perfect day for the best man God ever. You all did you jobs so well. Sincerest thanks to you all.

I've had the pleasure of Dave's company at Serrano's for the past 10 years and always looked forward to the wisdom in his words. He is already missed.

Even though I did not know your father, just want you to know I am thinking of you. My prayers for strength and comfort are with you and your families at this sad time. Remember, your father is alive again and there will be a great reunion in heaven one day. God Bless.

Thank you all for the wonderful comments about my precious father. Hearing these things stops the tears and makes me smile. It almost stops the ache in my heart. He was the most wonderful person I've known. My mountain, my daddy. I love you so much.

Davy was such a blessing to the regulars at Serranos. His smile welcomed us; his warmth blessed us. What a fine man! We will all sorely miss him. May God's comfort be with you.

We are so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. We always enjoyed having coffee with him at the donut shop and at Village Inn. He was so proud of his family and loved them all. All our best to the family, he will be greatly missed. Larry and Marsha Garner

I remember when I was a rookie officer on the CSPD & Dave would talk with me about different situations & people I had encountered. I considered his common sense comments & advice very valuable! Dave was a real man, a fine officer with honor & integrity, & he will be greatly missed by his family & many friends! May God provide comfort & peace to Dave's family during this very difficult time!

I never enjoyed talking with anyone more than I did with Dave - whether it was about history, politics, sports or just about life. What a terrific father and grandfather. So many fond memories and my deepest respect always.

I'm going to miss you so much Grandpa! We had such a special bond. So lucky to be your only grand daughter!! You will always be in my heart forever and always
