I just heard about your Dad passing. It was a shock and heartbreaking. David and I were longtime aviation friends. We talked often and I was puzzled when I couldnt reach him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

Dear Michael and David,
Your Dad was the most caring, kind, and compassionate gentleman who was admired and loved by all who knew him.
We so enjoyed playing Bridge and having wonderful conversations. He was a devoted husband, father, and devout Christian who walked the way of our Lord. He will be dearly missed by us; our fond memories will always remain.
We hold you in our hearts and prayers; today, and into all of your tomorrows

Your Dad was one of the most caring, compassionate, and giving person I have ever known. We always enjoyed playing Bridge and wonderful conversations. He was a loving and caring husband and father. Thinking about David recently. Sorry to hear about his passing. I knew his brother Andy as a kid. His dad got me started in Ham radio and I kept up with David until he closed his practice in Texas. Nice guy and always enjoyed our ham radio visits...

Michael & David,
We were shocked and saddened when we heard of your Dad's passing. He, along with your mother, were very good friends for many years. We enjoyed playing bridge with them, dining out, and traveling. Their absence in our lives will be filled with the memories we have of good times with them. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

David, Michael, Andy and families- David was a true Renaissance man.He could do it all and do it well. He was an excellent teacher, a kind and caring ophthalmologist and a loving family man. He was my close friend and former partner at Ophthalmology Associates and I shall miss him terribly.

David loved his profession, family, and friends. He will be missed by his many friends in Colorado Springs

David was truly one of a kind - a rare combination of genius, curiosity, compassion and strength. He represented the profession of medicine with dignity. I am fortunate to have worked with him for a brief time. I wish it could have been longer. My prayers and sympathies go out to his family.

We were so saddened to learn of David's passing. David and Johanne were dear friends and we shared important part of our lives together, played bridge, traveled together and shared joyful moments and concerns. David and Johanne were like: "The flower that blooms in adversity is rarest and is the most beautiful of all"- anonymous. We miss them both and our deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family.

Dr Hunter was one of my mentors while I was a resident in Ophthalmology at UTHSCSA. Always kind and knowledgeable, he was never condescending as he taught. My sympathy and prayers are lifted up for the family in their time of grief.

Fantastic, person, doctor and friend. He will be sorely missed. Rest in peace.

All of David's friends and "family" at Ophthalmology Associates of San Antonio were shocked and saddened to learn of Daivd's passing. He was one of us. Our leader and friend for many years. Our lives will be different without him. He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him. We spent many hours working, hunting, fishing and in the cockpit together. Our condolences to the family.

David and I graduated together from University Laboratory School, and I had not seen him since that evening 61 years ago. What I especially remember about him, though, is that at so young an age he was already a gentleman. And so, I am given to understand, he remained throughout his life.

I ask David's family to accept my sympathy.
