David Keith Kelly, a beloved father, spouse, and grandfather, passed away at Canyon Valley Memory Care in Green Valley, Arizona on September 22, 2023, at the age of 79. He was born in November 1943, a son of Donald and Anne (Pollock) Kelly.
Mr. Kelly was a graduate of Elcho High School of Wisconsin in 1961. He married Pamela Marie Kelly (Bessa) in the summer of 1965. Pamela preceded David in death on July 25th, 2002. They are survived by two children, Andrea Lee Ludwig (wife of Darren) of Temecula, California (1966-), and Kent David Kelly (husband of Michelle) of Aurora, Colorado (1970-) along with four grandchildren, Brittany, Stephanie, Christopher, and Liam David, as well as three great-grandchildren. In 2003, David gained a stepdaughter, Heidi Santagata, and became Papa Dave to Riley, Christopher (C.J.), Logan, and Gavin. David has many loving extended family in Wisconsin and abroad.
Over several decades, David worked and excelled in manufacturing, machining, and precision metals at several organizations including Hussmann Corporation (of Northbrook, Illinois), RBM (of Colorado Springs), Xacto Manufacturing, and Mikron Manufacturing, Inc. (founded 1984) prior to his retirement.
Later in life (August 2003), David committed and became partner to Karlene Vernier, who traveled and shared a fun-filled life with him. Dave enjoyed many adventures, and possessed a singular gift for making friends wherever he went. He moved his family from Wisconsin to Colorado in 1979, dedicated to pursuing his shared passions for skiing, camping, fishing, and wilderness exploration.
Dave was beloved by his family, and provided his children with wisdom, protection, and a never-ending drive for self-advancement born of courage, hard work, and much laughter. He is dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held on October 15 at 2:00 pm at Mountain View Bible Chapel, 305 Norman Drive, Colorado Springs (Security) Colorado 80911, with Rev. Melugin officiating. Well wishes and memorials can be sent to the Chapel.
