David Olemeda Obituary
David entered the Navy in 1950 and served until 1954. He worked at the United States Air Force Academy for 32 years, until his retirement in 1987.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maria Olemeda of Fountain, daughter Theresa Gonzalez of Colorado Springs, daughter Roxanne Massey of Helena Montana, son David Olemeda of Colorado Springs, Daughter Dianna Moya of Denver, Colorado, son Daniel Olemeda (Anthony Stamper) of Denver, Colorado and daughter Kim Shatteen (Cedrick Shatteen) of Monument, Colorado.
He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a sister-in-law Elma Martinez of Denver, Colorado and a brother-in-law Gilbert Romero (Margaret) of Eaton, CO.
A Memorial Service will be held at Dove Witt Family Mortuary at 10:00 AM, Saturday July 19, 2014. Family and friends are invited to the Olemeda home following the service on Saturday.

Mom and family. I really wish I would have been able to go home to remember Dad with everyone. My heart is saddened by his loss. I'll always remember the heart to heart talks with him. He will live forever in my heart. Even now I feel his love surrounding me in my grief.

Corky and family I am very sad to hear about the passing of Dave. I have not been in contact with any one in the family in years but I will always remember as kid growing up behind the family and hearing him whistling and working on cars in the back yard. Growing up he was always one of my favorite people and I know that he will be sorely missed by his loved ones. From an old, old,old childhood friend of the family

To The Olemeda family: Our condolences to the family on the loss of David Olemeda. We have not seen the family for a number of years but we have not forgotten all of you. We met Dave in early 1990's. Dave and Corky Olemeda opened their home to us when we met our late brother Modesto (Mo) and made us feel like family. While in Colorado Springs we met all of our extended family. We have often spoke about the times we spent in the back
yard listening to Dave and his guitar. We sure missed those days. Our thoughts and prayers goes out to the family.
