My dear primo-hermano, I never told you how special the words "hey cuz" sounded whenever you called me. You were more like a brother than a cousin...growing up together I was always with you all. You wouldn't let me play marbles because I was a girl and I never did learn to spin the top, but sure could drown the red ants in the "positos" we made and filled with water. I never thanked you for being there when I left home and came over to your house and you took precautions in case mother and my step-father would show up at Ama Tere's to get me. Thanks for being my ride to school the last 6 months of my senior year and for being like the "big brother" (I am 9 months and 1 day older than you) when you heard about my daughter Ana back in 1968. Above all...I never thanked you for servicing for our country...for if it wasn't for men such as you and the women who also serve, especially the war you were involved in, where would we be today. And David, despite your own personal health issues you wrote such a beautiful description of my husband that it made me cry. Your physical body is gone from our sight but your spirit will forever be with us in our hearts. Love ya, your "cuz" Estela Frias

My love you are gone but not forgotten. Frankie and I miss you so much. We grew up together and I was honored that you asked me to be with you until the end. Gone are the block BBQ parties but our friends and memories will always be remembered. You will always have a special place in my heart. And our song "Un Rinconcito en el Cielo" will forever bring tears when I hear it. May you rest in peace.
