When I got this notice I was so surprised. I have been talking about David lately. We were going over our gems and rocks that we worked on with David. He has been missed. I will always remember the faceting lessons at your house.

I was so saddened to be informed by Marie that my Uncle David had passed. My heart goes out to my Aunt Judy, whom he loved with all his heart. My love and prayers go out to my Cousins Charla, Denise and Steven. It is going to be so very hard on them.

A donation has been made to Special Olympics Southern California in his name.

I am unable to be there in person. I hope my Mother, his Sister Aletha ruth will be okay. She is surely mourning. My love goes out to Donald and Richard his Brothers.

No mere words of mine can even come close to healing a broken heart. Perhaps, though, our prayers can help these loved ones to cope.

Brenda Lee Lidikay.

Dear Judy, We will miss David's sweet smile and hugs at church on Sunday mornings! He was so kind and thoughtful and always had some beautiful gems he had just cut to share with us. He will be missed so much by all who knew him. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Julie and Trey McFarlin

Judy, I am sorry. I don't know what Eastside will do without him. It was a different service on Sunday knowing he was missing. Good for him to get to go home in what I have heard was a fairly peaceful passing. We love the Wilsons.

I met David when I attended a Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society meeting and he was giving out a faceting award. I was amazed and excited to know there was someone who taught this skill.
David and I have been on many adventures since he took me under his wing and taught me to facet. We have been to symposiums, gem shows and on field trips to screen sapphires and sunstones. I loved how he explained the geology of the landscape as we traveled. He also talked of his youth and beloved family. David was a friend to everyone he met, dazzling them with a pocket full of his most recently cut gemstones. I am blessed to have known such a wonderful man and will miss him terribly. I send my love, prayers and deepest sympathy to you Judy, Charla, Denise, Stephen. and to your families. May God bless and heal you.

Aunt Judy, Just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss and our loss. I wish I had more time to get to know Uncle David, but was so blessed to get to see both of you at Dad's(Richards)Birthday party. Thank you so much for the visit when both of you came to Texas. My prayers are with you and Charla, Denise and Stephen. I will be unable to attend the service, but hope to see you soon. We can all be assured knowing that Uncle David lived a good life with the ones he loved and who also loved him. He is in heaven now and with God who loves him. That is what we need to remember when we get down. Love always,Your niece Karen (Wilson) Wood

I met Dave Wilson when I worked at Ackley's Rocks and Stamps, so I have known him through the years and he was such a kind and thoughful man, that always made time for people.
One time years ago, one of my customers at Ackley's had some faceting questions, so I called Dave and he talked to my customer for quite awhile! Dave was always willing to give tips and knowledge to people.
He even named a beautiful watermelon tourmaline after me!! It sold at auction for over a thousand dollars! That touched me so much!! He said all beautiful stones are named after women!
He made everyone feel comfortable, and I will miss him!!
He hugged me on one of my last days at Ackley's... I am glad I got that hug!!!
My thoughts and prayers go out to Dave's wife, children, and friends.
God Bless, and I am glad I knew him!!!

I would like to send my love & deepest sympathy to Dave's family. I met Dave in 2007 while working at a local jewelry store. It was then that I learned he was a gemstone cutter. I had lots of questions for him, and he answered each question with passion & patience. He encouraged me to become one of his students. In 2008 I started taking lessons from Dave. I learned the basics of gemstone cutting, but, more than that, I got learn about Dave. During my lessons, Dave would tell me stories about his family - how he adores Judy, and how he is so proud of his children and grandchildren. He glowed with excitement when a trip to visit his family or his summer vacation with Judy was on the horizon. His passion for life was infectious! Dave also had a magical way of making me feel like I was his only friend. He is kind, patient, loving, funny & a joy to know. I am truely sad to loose my dear friend. My heart goes out to Judy, Charla, Denise, Stephen and their families - I am so, so sorry for your loss. May peace & healing come to you quickly. With much love,
