Deanna Jean Patrick 74, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on March 17, 2025, at her home. She was born on August 8, 1950, in San Francisco, California, to John R. Fogarty and Dorothy J. Fogarty.
Deanna was a proud graduate of Greeley Central High School, class of 1968, and went on to earn a degree in World Languages from the University of Northern Colorado. She dedicated 37 years of her life to education, serving as a high school teacher in the Harrison School District. Over the years, Deanna earned multiple honors for her outstanding contributions to the field of education, including Teacher of the Year at Sierra High School, the Sierra Pride Award, and the prestigious American Star of Teaching Award from the U.S. Department of Education. She was twice recognized with the Harrison District 2 Above and Beyond Award, along with numerous other accolades. However, Deanna always considered her most significant achievement to be the impact she had on the students and staff of Harrison District 2. She was deeply involved in student clubs, athletics, fine arts, and many other extracurricular activities, always seeking to make a positive difference in the lives of her students.
Deanna was preceded in death by her father, John, and her mother, Dorothy. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Gary Patrick; her sister, Patricia Cannava (Ed); her brother, John Fogarty (Margaret); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Deanna was a devoted wife, sister, and friend, whose warmth, kindness, and passion for teaching touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, colleagues, and the many students whose lives she shaped.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Harrison School District Foundation at: hsd2.org/our-district/d2-foundation.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Ms. Patrick was a beloved French teacher of mine at Sierra High School. She was always full of life and joy. She had a lovely smile and I always went out of my way to take her classes because I enjoyed them so much. Her light will surely be missed.

Heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family of Mrs. Patrick as we knew her. As a member of the Sierra High School faculty she served as a strong academic mentor and role model for our son while he was one of her students. For this we are most appreciative. Needless to say she played a strong role in his being accepted to some of the most prestigious universities throughout the country and chose Stanford. As parents she was always glad to see us at any of the high school events we attended and always made sure to ask for both of our children. We will miss her. May she now Rest In Eternal Peace.
