Deborah Berry Obituary

Deborah Sue "Debbie" Berry, 43 of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away, Wednesday April 7, 2015, the day before her 44th birthday, due to complications of Lupus. Debbie was a kind, sweet, funny, loving woman who touched the lives of so many. She was a pillar of strength and the voice of reason to her friends and family. But, most of all, she was always ready for a good laugh. She brought light and goodness to those around her. Debbie was truly the sweetest angel on earth.

Debbie Berry was born April 8, 1971 to Bobby Berry, Sr. and Virginia Berry, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has one brother, Bobby Berry Jr., who Debbie often referred to as "the most wonderful man she knew." Debbie grew up in Santa Fe, NM and graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1988. In 1991 she moved to Colorado where she remained until her death. After moving to Colorado Debbie made frequent trips back to NM, mostly to buy real New Mexico Chile's for the spectacular green chili she always made.

Debbie led a wonderful, fun-filled life with her immediate family and many friends. She adored her brother, her mother and her step-dad in a way most people envy. She loved spending time with them going to movies, traveling, cooking and most of all playing pranks on her step-dad, Rod.

Debbie's professional life was about making things work. She made clients and those around her feel special. She was often recognized for all of her achievements. She will be missed greatly by her clients and co-workers.

Debbie is survived by her mother and stepfather, Virginia Berry and Rodney Scheer of Colorado Springs, her brother Bobby Berry Jr. of Colorado Springs, Grace the cat and many wonderful friends. Debbie is preceded in passing by her father Bobby Berry, Sr., and her loving grandparents Helen and Cotton Dry, of Santa Fe, NM.

Debbie Berry, a life well lived!

A celebration of life will be held: Saturday April 11, 2015 at Swan Law Mortuary in Colorado Springs, CO.

Viewing from 3:00PM to 3:27PM. Service will begin immediately after the viewing. A reception will follow at Swan Law

Swan Law Mortuary, 501 N Cascade Ave. Colorado Springs, CO 80903

Our family was a client of Debbie's and we always felt loved and cherished by her. She had a wonderful way of remembering details about our lives each time we called and had a sweet spirit. We will truly miss her. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Berry family.

I was privileged to work part-time with Debbie two days a week for the last year. She was extremely loyal and dedicated to her job. She was always helpful, professional and polite when working with her clients. She was a great mentor and trainer to me. She will be missed greatly and there are BIG shoes to fill here in the office. I never had the opportunity to try her HOT green chili, but she made sure I rec'd authentic New Mexico tamales imported by her mother for my bday present. I will miss her and so will all of our clients.

Even though I just met Debbie, I felt we had an immediate connection. I believe we were kindred spirits. She made me laugh and her smile would light up the room. I am honored that I was her nurse during the last weeks on earth and will always remember her and her wonderful family. Bless her "little brother" and her sweet mother.

Debbie was a joy to work with. She was always so positive I never would have known she was suffering so much. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

So sorry to have not seen Debbie's obituary sooner, we would have been at her service. We remember the first time meeting, at a business breakfast, and then having the privilege of doing work in her new home, she wrote a resume for one of our sons and then just a few weeks ago she helped us complete paperwork for another son for his financials. Debbie was always kind and helpful. She will be missed by so many.. Cindy and Darrell Richmeier

I just found out you are gone earlier or I would have been at your Celebration. I will always remember your sweet little smile baby girl. I guess your Daddy needed to see it close up so you went to heaven to smile at him. I'll pray for your mom & your sweet brother B.J. because I know you're already in heaven.

Already miss ya little buddy. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that you're gone. I loved that you were always up for an adventure with me. Whether it was the Chile & Frijole Festival or a bad community theater play or just out to try some new food, I always had a blast with you. I'm still carrying the coupon for Momma Pearl's Cajun Kitchen, we never got to try it out. You were an angel on earth so I know you're already one heck of an Angel in Heaven. You honestly were the best, sweetest, funniest, craziest goofball to grace this earth. Until I leave this earth I will miss you! But someday I'll see you again. Godspeed my friend.

I worked with Debbie 9 or 10 years ago, I remember her as always having a smile, never complaining and always there if you needed to either talk or to do some work for you. Shine down upon us as we glace at you from a distance. My deepest condolences.

Debbie was always so much fun. I remember the first time I had met her we had the Edward Jones BOA Christmas at my house and she tried to tell me she was shy. She wasn't shy she talked to everyone and jumped right in with help in the Kitchen I loved her from the first time I met her. She never missed a Christmas party or BOA gathering and she always had a smile and a hug for everyone. You will missed my friend.
