Deborah Burton Obituary

Deborah Marie Burton (Deb) passed away July 28, 2009 at the age of 41. She had been a resident of Peyton, CO. since October 2008. She was an Administrative Assistant at NORAD and US NorthCom, Peterson AFB, CO. Deb is survived by her husband Steve Burton and her two beloved German Shepherds', Montana & Cassie. She is also survived by her parents David & Kathleen Andrea, her sister Michelle Andrea and nephew Kory Johnson, all from Lancaster CA. She started life as an Air Force Daughter and epitomized the Air Force wife. Her life was captured in her disposition and how she embraced the struggles of having an Air Force husband and standing by him regardless of what he was called to do. Deb was loved, respected, and appreciated by her entire family and her many friends all over the world. Anyone who met Deb was blessed to have known her. She had an innate ability to touch a person with her smile and her generosity of herself. A visitation is scheduled from 12:00-4:00 pm Sunday 2 August at Swan-Law Funeral Directors. Funeral Services will be held at Peterson AFB Chapel Monday 3 August at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and/or Breast Cancer Society.

I had the lucky chance to work with Deb back in Minot. I was a brand new Lt in the Air Force and she was always going out of her way to take care of me and make sure I didn’t mess up too much. She was cheerful and kind. Her family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Deb was a wonderful and giving woman and a great neigbor. Her and Steve became very close with my family in the short time they lived in Brandon, Florida. I will never forget the yellow ribbon she placed on the tree outside their house, a symbol of support and love which she exuded with every smile she gave. I am so sorry for your loss Steve. You and your family are in my prayers.

Deb was an AWESOME woman. She had a rare gift of making one like her after an immediate introduction. Her smile and friendly disposition are the gifts we will miss. Steve has lost his soulmate and I pray that he will someday find comfort and peace in the time the two shared together. May the rest of her family find peace in knowing how much she IS loved AND missed. My heart is broken because she meant the world to me and I miss her more than words can say. GOD bless you Deb and thanks for the memories. Rest in peace, my ANGEL. Darren L. Cole

Deb had a smile that would light up an entire room. Her friendliness was a gift that she shared with all. For over a year each morning she would start our work day with a smile and greeting that helped carry that day. I am so very sorry for your loss, Steve. I know you two were very loving and close.
