Ann,
My heart breaks for you. Declan was a compassionate, articulate, witty young man. You should be so proud of him. There are many good books, some are long and some are short, but it's the story that counts. Take care of yourself.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Declan will be very sincerely missed. He truly was a blessing to those that had the pleasure of being in his company. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

We are so sorry to hear about Declan. He was one of Chandler's first friends when we moved here in third grade and remained friends throughout. I want you to know that Declan was my favorite if the kids in Hawthorn Woods.
He could really make me laugh!
Such a beautiful person and caring. I have wonderful memories of laughing on the account of Declan and I cherish those so much more now.
He had a way of capturing the room and lighting up the whole space. Your family is in our prayers

Dear Tom,
I'm so saddened by the loss of your beloved son. My heart goes out to you and your family. I'm grateful I had time to talk with Declan in early July. What a nice, polite, and genuine young man. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and daily prayers. May the dear Lord bring you strength and comfort during this sad time. My condolences to you and your family.

We are so sorry for your loss. I have a distinct memory of him coming to our house when he was very young WITH a HAMMER which he thought he might use on our walls ! He was certainly a character !

Declan O'Connell was very a special young man who touched the hearts of everyone he met. He was an old soul in a young body who always put others first. He was simply one of the finest people I have every had the pleasure of meeting. Words cannot express our sorrow. He was very loved by the HWCC community and he will be missed. Our prayers of support go out to Tom, Ann, and David.

My daughter Brooklyn was friends with your son. She took her life last year at age 19. I will be out of town Sunday and so sorry to not be there. I would love to speak with your family. I have many things to tell you that may ease your pain.
