Dennis Augustine, 68, affectionately and fittingly known as Augie by those who knew him, passed away unexpectedly in Monument, Colorado on May 5th.
Augie loved camping and being outdoors, music, spending time with his family, and was an ardent sports fan.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 46 years, Judy Augustine, and his beloved dog Vanny.
He cared passionately for his family and loved his dogs. He loved taking the dog for car rides and hiking with his wife. He was an enthusiastic eater, for someone so spry and lean, loving his morning toast, his potato chips, Michelob Light, and taco night. His humor, sarcasm, and wit touched everyone he met. If he gave you a silly, affectionate nickname, you felt embraced and accepted. He was genuine and loving and will be painfully missed.
He is also survived by his daughter, Jessica Morgan, who inherited his sarcasm and wit; his son-in-law, Daniel Porter, and his grandson Alex Morgan. In addition to his family in Colorado, he is survived by his family in Wisconsin: his four brothers, and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hank and Lena Augustine.
Augie will be honored in a celebration of his life at Blunt Mortuary in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Tuesday, May 11th at 2:00 pm.

I knew Augie for several years when I was a Store Manager with the Kelly-Moore Paint Company. Augie was one of a kind and a character and looked forward to every visit he made to our store. Augie will be truely missed and my thoughts and prayers are with his friend and family at this very sad time.
