Denny and Mary were my second family while growing up. Living in the small farming town of New Ulm MN in the late 40's and early 50's where Denny and my Dad visited, sang in a group and prayed together at Holy Trinity. Colorado Springs CO became home when both families moved because of Pat's and my asthma. Visits continued thru the years as the Hayes family grew and baptisms, confirmations and weddings and funerals occurred in both our families. Denny always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He was so upbeat and positive in his life all up until now. I enjoyed his organ playing that occurred with every trip to his home as well as the give and take that occurred between all us kids in the basement! Denny will be missed and he will live on in my and his much loved family's memory!

Peace be with you Uncle Denny. While we didn't spend a lot of time together you always made an effort to stay in touch and keep us up to date with family. Fond memories of the time we did spend together in Colorado Springs and your mountain property nearby. Rest in peace and you will be missed. Condolences and prayers to all of your family.

After one week of grieving my dad's passing, I am so grateful for his smile, his silliness, his love for others and his commitment to his family...what a guy! And while still feeling his absence which I expect to feel for a long time, I mostly feel warmed by his smile and listening ear. I love you Dad.
