Dennis loved Jesus as his Lord and Savior and his dear family deeply. He knew no stranger. Dennis passed away from complications with pneumonia.

Dennis was born to Robert and Edna Korth in Loveland, CO. He graduated from CSU and met the love of his life, Carol Eddy, and were married in 1973. They moved to Colorado Springs to start his teaching career in 1974. Dennis taught Wood Shop and Technology at Manitou Springs High School for 31 years. He was also a Young Life Leader for 20 years at MSHS. He retired in 2005.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Carol, of 48 years and three children: Jason Korth and wife Michelle (children, Ashley and Tyler), Scott Korth and Allison Korth Corey (daughter, Emma). He treasured his precious grandchildren Emma, Ashley and Tyler. Dennis is also survived by his mother, Edna, a brother, David Korth and wife Kathy (daughter Jessica), a sister, Danette Geiger, half-sister, Darlene Dills, sister-in-law, Glenna Eddy, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dennis loved motorcycles and Pikes Peak. In the 1970s he raced up Pikes Peak on July 4th and January 1st. Later he became a motorcycle official for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and an active member of the Historical Association. Dennis also volunteered with the Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon.

Dennis loved Volkswagens. In 1994, Dennis along with several students, built an Electric Car, Sparky, from a 1970 Volkswagen. He was a member of the Denver Electric Vehicle Council and the Colorado Springs Electric Vehicle Club. Dennis was a founding father for the local Pikes Peak Woodturners. Dennis was also a member of the local S.V.W. Car Club

Dennis and Carol have attended First Evangelical Free Church (FEFC) for 45 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 6th, at 10:30 a.m. at FEFC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the FEFC Relocation Fund.

Sorry to Hear about Dennis Korth passing. I taught with him at Manitou in the 1990's. I always remember him as a very nice and very humble person. Always seemed to have a smile on his face. I would have conversations with him in the shop about school stuff and how to deal with faculty and students that I may of been having difficulty with. I always saw Dennis as a guy who had it together and had life figured out. My condolences to his wife and family. I will remember him fondly. Martin Davidson ( Science Teacher MSHS 1992-2001)

What do you say about a man who always looks for a opportunity to lift up those around him with his wit and dry humor. Always joking and yet always caring as well. Rest easy dear friend and we will see you when it is our turn to return home to glory.

Dennis will live on in our hearts and memories to be sure! He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Dennis was a special friend to our team (Ducati Motorcycle race team), and always made sure to come by and say hello to us during the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. It's surely true to say that Dennis knew no stranger. Sending warm thoughts to his loved ones.

I have many special memories of Dennis over the years as be both taught at MSSD14. A special one is that he visited UPE one day with his "pet 2X4" on a leash and gave him a tour of the building. We had a great chuckle over that. It was representative of his spcial wit and personality. He always had that special hug for me when we saw each other. Special man of God.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Dennis' family. I was blessed to call Dennis a teacher and then friend. When away, I drove Sparky in the homecoming parades and you can bet everyone would run up to Sparky and ask "Wheres Dennis" He was a bright light wherever he went or whatever he was involved with. He truly will be missed.
