DENNIS LEONARD ROHAN

Dennis Leonard Rohan, 83, passed away peacefully in his home on April 9, 2021 after battling Parkinson's Disease. He was surrounded by his children as he was called home to our beloved Lord and Savior.
Dennis was born on February 24, 1938 in Milwaukee, WI where he spent his childhood. After graduating from Rufus King High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve prior to returning to college at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He met his wife, Janet, while in college and the two were married on May 27, 1967. They lived in Chicago, then Hanover Park, IL until 1979 when they moved to Colorado City, CO. They moved to Pueblo in 1986 then settled for good in Colorado Springs in 1988.
Dennis enjoyed reading, and was a Renaissance man in many respects with a broad knowledge base. He read multiple newspapers cover-to-cover every day. His children would call to ask for advice even in the last few months of his life. He had too many interests to list but he particularly enjoyed cars, car racing, boating, mountain views and action movies. Dennis worked as a real estate agent then a car salesman to provide for his family, often six days a week. His children realize how hard he worked for all the opportunities that his family was afforded.
He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and looked for any opportunity to brag about their accomplishments. He had a witty, often sarcastic sense of humor and made up his own, original "dad jokes" with regularity. In fact, he was still making jokes just a few nights before he was called to heaven.
He leaves a loving family including children; Cari (partner Amy Lehn) Rohan, Craig (Joyce) Rohan; sister, Phyllis Woelfel; grandchildren, Carson Rohan and Matthew Rohan. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Janet (Schuett) Rohan, mother Lorraine (Greshel) Rohan, father, Leonard Rohan; sister, Marilyn DeWolf and brother, Roger Rohan.
Visitation at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, Monday, April 19 at 10 am. Funeral service led by his long time pastor, Rev. James Seiltz to follow at 11 am (also at Swan-Law). Burial at 1pm at Crystal Valley Cemetery, 502 Plainview Avenue, Manitou Springs, Colorado 80829.
