Dewey Parrott, age 91, of Colorado Springs, CO passed away on March 24, 2025.
Dewey was born on September 23, 1933, in Etowah, TN to Willie and Bessie Parrott. He joined the Air Force in 1951 and went to Korea, was discharged. In 1956 he Joined the Us Army, served proudly in radiology his whole career. He served in Vietnam. In 1959 he married Thoedora "Thea" Hartmann. They had three children, Michael (deceased), Susan and Karin. He retired from the Army. He then worked for and retired from District 11 school maintenance. Dewey loved getting Thea to the mountains and took amazing care of her. He enjoyed his grandkids to pieces, and being outdoors in the yard. He could fix anything. He is sincerely loved and admired by his extended family and friends.
Dewey is survived by his wife of 65 years, Thea. His daughters Susan and Karin and daughter-in-law Ruth. Karin's husband Mark and their children; Maryrose and husband Alex, Michael, Sarah, Bridget, Stephen and newborn great grandson Arthur. As well as several cousins, nieces and nephews in the south.
Viewing/Rosary 5-7 pm at Swan Law Funeral Home Wed., April 2, 2025. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church at 11:00 am, Thurs., April 3, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to: Disabled American Veterans, Wounded Warrior Project, or Serra Club (Catholic Diocese of Colorado Springs), Dewey's grandson is a seminarian.
