DIANA MAE (TORKELSON) KEYS
March 22, 1932 March 6, 2021
Diana Keys, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully after a long illness on March 6, 2021 at the age of 88 years.
Born on March 22, 1932 in Excelsior, Minnesota to Trygve and Diana Ferguson Torkelson. After graduating high school in 1950, she started her career as a travel agent, and transferred to work at Martin Marietta in Denver. There where she met her husband Robert Keys, and married in 1959. They moved to Littleton in 1960 and lived there for 30 years, raising their family. Diana's love of music lead to her next career as a piano teacher, working with more than 300 pupils over the next 25 years. In 1990, they moved to Colorado Springs. Diana was very active in the First Lutheran Church and various church events, community outreach and charitable programs. All who knew her loved her warm personality, her quick humor and engaging smile.
She is survived by her husband Robert (Bob), son John, sister Karen Kelly and nephew Shannon, and her grandchildren Jack, Will and Annie Keys in Sacramento, California.
Services will be at First Lutheran Church on Friday May 7, 2021 at 11:00 am.
Special thanks to all her neighbors and friends and especially to her caregiver Dena for the excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Lutheran Church.
