Diane Lichstein Obituary

Diane (Purdy) Lichstein, Ph.D., age 63, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2008. She was born on Oct. 4, 1944, in Tomah, the daughter of Isabelle (Haight) Regan and Dale Purdy. Diane graduated fromTomah High School and received her undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in literature. Later she received her Ph.D. in literature from the University of Pennsylvania. Diane married Lawrence Lichstein on Aug.12, 1968, in Madison. She and her husband raised their family in Colorado Springs, Colo. before retiring to Viola, Wis. Diane is survived by her mother, Isabelle Regan; sons, Gilbert Lichstein (Ruth Czarnecki-Lichstein), and Byron Lichstein ( partner, Jennie Capellaro); brothers; Casey (Jennifer) Purdy, and Luke (Lillian) Purdy; sisters, Nancy Purdy, and Heather (Richard) Mantz; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, on Aug. 6, 2000; and her father, Dale. A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, 2008.
