Don will be missed. He was like a father to me for the past 16 years and I loved him dearly. One of the most gently and respectful men I have ever known. The world will miss you.

We will miss Don so much. Every time we would need help with something or would have a little "crisis" one of us would say, someone call Don. Like when my daughter got trapped in her room because the door knob broke and he came over and took the molding off to get to the hinges on the other side of the door to remove the door, or when we had wasps in our house, or had a hard time making our carnival booth stand up. When we asked to borrow tools to rebuild our fence that blew down, he came over and helped my husband fix it. When we had a nautical mystery party he built us a gangway for over the front stairs to make it look like we were actually going on a boat. When my husband was going to paint the second story of our house, Don showed him how to secure the ladder so it wouldn't fall over (like it did when he was painting the lower level and he fell in the flowerbed.) When we were in the middle of a big baking project and realized we were missing an ingredient, he was always there. When we needed something he would always try to give it to us and not let us pay for it. When we had a girl staying with us from Peru, and needed to borrow a few eggs we tried to explain to her, now... he won't take the money so you have to throw it and run. So she's like, uuuh get the eggs, throw the money and run, ok. She will probably always have an interesting view of American customs.
Having Don live across the street was like having my dad live across the street. No matter how big or small the need, he was always there, with a smile on his face, ready to help.
Our love and prayers go out to you, Joni & Heather.
