Donald Griggs Obituary
devotion to his family and retiring after decades of dedicated and honorable service to the Army (1963-1987) and El Paso County (Colorado) Sheriff's Department (1989-2002) where he retired at the rank of sergeant.
Donald was a Life member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the NAACP. He was also a 32nd -degree
Mason and a past president of the United Methodist Men for Peoples United Methodist Church.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
He is survived by two daughters, Shenetha Myers (Connecticut) and Maemie Lorenzo (California), step-daughter Helen (Arthur) Sapp of Colorado Springs, and Step-son Robert (Cindy) Branch of Wyoming, a throng of loving grand and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will take place on August 12 at 4 p.m., Calvary United
Methodist Church, 4210 Austin Bluffs Parkway.
In lieu of flowers Donald
requested donations be made to any of the following Foundations: Wounded Warrior, Kidney,
Parkinson's, Cancer, or Multiple Sclerosis.

Donald was a fun but serious Deputy to work with at the S.O., he helped me numerous times that I will not forget, great sense of humor. R.I.P. my brother and friend.
