When I think about Don I see music, books, trains, horses, driving on mountain roads, his smirky smile, Colorado history, the love he had for his family and how he protected them.
My sincerest sympathy to you, Shirley, George, Crystal and your families

To: Aunt Shirley and Cody
I remember Uncle Donny because he was the best house guest I ever had. He parked his RV in my driveway and he, Aunt Shirley and Cody stayed there while visiting us in Palmyra, PA. Maybe Cody remembers visiting Chocolate World in Hershey, Pa.
I remember taking the RV to Lancaster and riding the Strasburg Railroad. Uncle Donny liked trains, especially old steam engines.
I have heard many stories about Uncle Donny from my mother-in-law, Bernice. I wish that I could have lived closer.
Sorry for your lose in this time of grief.

Don Milewski was my uncle. My greatest memories as a kid of Uncle Don, Aunt Shirley, George and Crystal, as my sister Cindy noted, were when we visited them at their house at the Jersey shore. I'll never forget his incredible train set in the basement. I also remember Thanksgiving meals when Uncle Ed, Uncle Don, Uncle Pete and all their families would come to my mom's house for dinner. After the meal, all the "men" would retire to the living room to watch the football game on TV and promptly fall asleep. Dad also had a great story about when Uncle Don tried to buy a motorcycle against his father's wishes. My favorite time was when I moved to Denver after college. Starting a new life so far from home was scary. Having family close by was wonderful and made my transition into adulthood much easier. I recall visiting them in Monument about every other weekend. I remember the rodeos and Crystal riding with the Rangerettes and how friendly George and Aunt Shirley were to Sue and me. Uncle Don actually got me on a horse once. I remember four-wheeling in my jeep together and how bummed Uncle Don was when the Eagles and the Polish Rifle lost the Superbowl. Uncle Don loved his music. I recall listening to classical music with him on his reel-to-reel tape player while we hung out in the loft of his A-frame home looking through the windows at the Colorado landscape. Uncle Don and his family were a big part of my life for the three years we lived in Colorado and I will always be grateful for that.
My deepest sympathies go to Aunt Shirley, George and Crystal.
Your Nephew,
Rob

Donald Milewski was my Uncle. My fondest memories of Uncle Donny was visiting him and his family in the summer when I was a child. My mom, my brother and I would take off to the Jersey Shore where he lived and we would so enjoy the beach at Point Pleasant and the board walk.
I also remember being a little afraid of Uncle Donny because he was sometimes a little grouchy and a little gruff. I came to realize this was just his way and he really was a softy at heart. :)
I loved his honesty. He was never afraid to tell it like it was. My mom and I laugh when we think of some of the things he has said out loud over the years. Only he could get away with it.
Uncle Donny loved history and he loved to travel. When I was about 13 my mom and I flew out to Colorado (my first plane ride). Uncle Donny and Aunt Shirley took us all over and gave us a wonderful tour of Colorado and New Mexico. I truly think he enjoyed being our tour guide and teaching us a little about the state he lived in. I have wonderful pictures and wonderful memories that I will keep with me always.
To Aunt Shirley, Crystal and Georgie, I'm so very sorry for your loss.
With loving memories of Uncle Donny,
Your Niece,
Cindy
