Donald Phillips Obituary

Don was born February 14, 1932 in Los Angeles to Cleo and Elmer Phillips. He grew up in Southern California and moved to Colorado Springs in 1971. Don graduated from the UCLA School of Engineering, and spent the next two years as a pilot in the Air Force. He then went on to obtain an MBA from Stanford University. Don was employed by Kaman Sciences in 1971 and later became the Director of Marketing at Kaman Instrumentation until his retirement in 1992. He served on the Board of the Colorado Springs Symphony and when he moved to Woodland Park in 1994, was a member of the Utilities Advisory Committee and the Planning Commission. He loved music, travel and was an avid collector of southwest Indian art. Don is survived by his wife Dorothy, his daughter, Diane Israel of Colorado Springs, his sons, Craig Phillips of Chicago, Paul Phillips of San Francisco, and John Phillips of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by 9 granchildren.
