Donald Richard Obituary

Donald G. Richard, 78, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away January 16, 2010 at Pike Peak Care & Rehabilitation Center. He was born September 21, 1931, in Akron, Ohio, the son of the late Helen Marie Richard. He served in the U.S. Army as an infantryman in the Korean War where he was wounded twice and awarded the Purple Heart. After his discharge, he was employed as a machinist for General Motors and the Civil Service, retiring in 1993. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Aleta Richard of Yucaipa, CA; Daughter Sandra Ahlgren of Colorado Springs, CO; son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Lis Richard of Peyton, CO; son and daughter-in-law Kim and Carolyn Richard of Colorado Springs, CO; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr. Richard was preceded in death by a grandchild, Becky Richard. A service will be held Friday, January 22, 2010 at Chapel of Memories, 829 South Hancock Avenue in Colorado Springs at 2:00 PM.
