Donald Riley Obituary

Dec. 24, 1923-Apr. 16, 2006 Donald E. Riley, 82, passed away on April 16, 2006 in Colorado Springs, CO. Donald was born in Boulder, CO., December 24, 1923 to J. Milton Riley and Gladys Doherty. His parents and sister, Marion Riley preceded him in death. He served in the European theater in WWII. He was a member of Patton's Army present at the liberation of Mauthausen Concentration Camps in Austria. He returned to study engineering at C.U. and married Beverly Ann Hover who died in 1991. He worked for McKesson Drug Sales for 16 years. He entered the Real Estate business and Golden Cycle as project manager for Cripple Creek Mountain Estates, Rio Cucharras, and Rockrimmon. He was a native Coloradan who loved to hunt and fly fish, a 35 year member of Mt. Massiver Fishing Club, member of Tejon Masonic Lodge. Proud of his Irish heritage, he enjoyed travel, anything Native American, fast cars, friends at downtown "Y" and watching birds and wild life at his home in Rockrimmon. He is survived by his wife, Susan; children: Christine Majors (Jack) of Canon City, and Donald M. Riley (Jeffie) of Dubois, WY., six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 10:00 am, Mountain View Mortuary Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
