Donald Griffing Slayter passed away on December 18, 2023. Donald was born on February 9, 1945, in El Dorado, Arkansas. He was the son of James Calvin Slayter and Dorothy "Dollie" Slayter. Donald retired after 36 years as an electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
He is survived by two sons, Timothy Slayter of Peyton, Colorado, and Michael (Caroline) Slayter; two grandsons, Jade Slayter and Twain Slayter of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one granddaughter, Ashley (Connor Rapp) Slayter of Aurora, Colorado; brother Walter "Buster" (Elizabeth) Slayter of Crosset, Arkansas, and one sister Judy (Terry) Karlsih of Kennesaw, Georgia; brother-in-law Tom Tullis of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, along with several nieces and nephews.
Donald is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Slayter, his grandparents, and one sister, Joann Tullis.
A graveside service will take place at 11am, Tuesday January 2, 2024 at Evergreen Cemetery 1005 Hancock Expressway. A reception will follow at 1pm at IBEW Local Union 113 2150 Naegele Road.
