I don't know if anyone will read this. I was visiting a childhood friend and we put together how we met playing baseball - at Cheyenne Mountain High School - our freshman year (1967). He has a team photo. Don was our coach. I had him as a coach at least one year before that. I was raised by a single mom - Don took me under his wing - helped me with my confidence. I was a catcher - Don had been a catcher. I needed a catcher's mitt - I only had a regular glove. We could not afford a new catcher's mitt - so he gave me the mitt that he had used years before. Growing up - I had three men who were outstanding role models for me - Don was on that short list.
