Donald Williams Obituary

Donald L. Williams, 74, passed away on January 29, 2007. He was born on June 14, 1932 in Trinidad, Colorado to Michael John and Margaret Williams. Don married his high school sweetheart, Shirley. The two celebrated their 50th anniversary on June 9, 2006 with family and friends. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had a great sense of humor and was a caring man who loved his family. Don served in the Korean War, and then worked as the Commissary Officer at Ft. Carson for over 30 years. He was a man of great faith; a charter member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and a long time Extraordinary Minister. Surviving Don is his wife Shirley; sons Mike Williams and wife Jane of Colorado Springs; Tom Williams and wife Chris of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter Gail Knott and husband Mike of Ogallala, Nebraska, seven grandchildren, Nicolle, Matt, Tom, Shane, Joe, Josie, Pat, and one great-grandchild, Everett. His parents and brother preceded him in death. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1830 S. Corona Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80906. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Don's name to the St. Joseph's Catholic Church Building Fund.

I attended Holy Trinity with Donald, played football with Donald, who was an outstanding Quarterback, and knew Donald and Shirley for many years, even though we were miles apart. My deepest symphathy to all remaining children and grandchildren.
