Donna Ellis Obituary

Donna Ellis, 70, Colorado Springs and Mexico, MO, died on June 24, 2016, at the home of her son and wife, Derek J. and Deborah (Rice) Ellis, with the help of Pikes Peak Hospice after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.

Donna was born July 11, 1945, Louisiana, MO, to the late Wilburn P. and Anna Lee (Shy) Hale of rural Curryville, MO. The family moved to Mexico in 1950 & Donna graduated from Mexico Sr. High in 1963. In 1965 she married William Ellis in Mexico. In 1966 they moved to Colorado where she lived until her death. Bill died October 12, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Donna spent 22 years in the administrative office of Colorado Springs District 20 until ill health forced her retirement in 2010.

Surviving with Donna's son and wife are grandchildren, Alexis (Allie) Ellis, Austin (Sydni) Ellis; great-grandson, Kaiden Joseph Ellis, born May 16, 2016, sister, Jane Ann (Carroll) Curry, niece, Jill (Eric) Schmidt, the grandchildrens' mother, Karen (Jackson) Ellis and several cousins.

Memorial services held on Sept. 28,2016; private family inter-ment at East Lawn Memorial Park, Mexico.

Memorials suggested to Pikes Peak Hospice.
