Donna Hunter Obituary

Donna Sue Hunter, 45, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2014 at Memorial Hospital.

She was born on September 22, 1968 to Frank B. and Linda L. (Curry) Hunter in San Diego, but grew up in Colorado Springs. She graduated from Wasson High School in 1987 and earned two associate degrees in Science and Art from Pikes Peak Community College and another in Architectural Design from Intellitec. She moved to Blackburn, Missouri where she was a caretaker for the mentally disabled. She moved back to Colorado Springs in 2013 where she lived until her death.

She is survived by her mother: Linda L. Hunter, her sister: Janet (Charles) Menter, her two nephews: 6 year old Mason and 15 month old Braeden Menter, an uncle: Al (Eileen) Hunter, and numerous friends. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

She was a quiet, kind, and caring person. She demonstrated her love for others through tissue donation. Her love for animals was obvious to anyone who knew her. She loved to play with her dogs Toebee, Suzy and Pepper. She enjoyed hiking in San Isabel National Forest, reading and theater.

A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4125 Constitution Avenue. Following services a light luncheon will be provided in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers please donate to your local Humane Society or the charity of your choice in her honor.

To Donna:

You challenged my values and made me stronger. You taught me patience and pride.

You gave me love, companionship, challenges, and a grateful heart.

Love, Mom

Donna was so much fun in high school. It is no surprise that she worked in an industry caring for others. She always had a big heart, a smile and was kind. The world lost a wonderful person and friend. Love and Prayers to Donna's family and may Donna rest peacefully.
