Dora Brown Obituary

Mrs. Dora Ree Brown, long-time Colorado Springs resident, passed away unexpectedly on December 3, 2009. She was born on March 13, 1933 in Waelder, Texas, to the late James Edward Warfield and Dora Aggie Warfield. After graduation from high school, Dora married her high school sweetheart, Louis Brown. This 57 year union was blessed with four children: Arthur, Rosemary, Robert, and Christopher. Dora took great joy and pride in taking care of her family and keeping a clean house. She enjoyed cooking and loved to work in her own gardens where she could be heard praising God. Because of her love for the Lord, she actively served at St John's Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado for many years. Survived by: Sons, Arthur (Patricia) Brown and Sir Christopher C. Brown II all of Colorado Springs; Daughter, Rosemary (James) Odoms of Flower Mound, Texas. Preceded in death by: Husband, Louis Brown; and Son, Robert Brown. Visitation, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2009,Angelus Funeral Directors, 2535 Airport Road. Funeral services 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 12, 2009, St. John's Baptist Church, 902 S. Prospect Street. Internment, Evergreen Cemetery.

I knew Grandma Brown through her grandaughter Temisha Brown- McSwain. During the summers we would spend time with her at the house. The sweetest, nicest person you could ever meet. She will be missed. I send my deepest sympathy to the family. May God keep you and bless you.
