Doran Willard Bartle, age 83, was a long time resident of Colorado only recently relocating to Clinton, Washington. Mr. Bartle passed away on April 8, 2012 after a brief illness. Doran was born November 22, 1928 in Akron, Ohio to the late Charles Jesse and Clara Alice (Davis) Bartle. As a child, Doran's family relocated to Detroit, Michigan. At 17, he enrolled at The Black Hills Bible Institute in Newcastle, Wyoming where he met and later married Jeannette Ruth Whitman of Colorado Springs on April 24, 1950. Following Jeannette's death, Doran remarried Elise Bouttau Erdenberger of Castle Rock on May 26, 1983. Mr. Bartle served in the Air Force with the 3rd Communications Squadron from 1952-55 in Alaska and California. His career included working in the dairy industry in Alaska and Colorado. He worked another 21 years before retiring from Texaco, Incorporated in Colorado and California. After retirement he continued to work as a handyman. As a resident of Colorado Springs he attended First Assembly of God, served on the deacon board, and was also a Royal Ranger leader. Doran is preceded in death by his parents, wife Jeannette, sister Claudia Faye Gregory, and brother Charles Howard Bartle. He is survived by his wife Elise Bartle of Clinton, Washington; sister Darla Redican of Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, brother Duane (Becky) Bartle of Logandale, Nevada; son Barrie (Elaine) Bartle of Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania, daughter Sharon Piper-Martin of Perryville, Kentucky, son Brian Bartle of Fort Collins, Colorado; step-daughters Gabrielle (Greg) Moore of Clinton, Washington, Heidi Gunn of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Lilly (Tim) Daniels Locke of Golden, Colorado. Doran also has 27 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. In Colorado Springs, a visitation at Blunt Mortuary will occur Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Services will be held Monday, April 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Living Hope Church. A private family burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery.
