Inez Hosier Obituary

Inez Hosier, 92, of Grand Island, formerly of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Tiffany Square in Grand Island.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Pastor Marta Wheeler will officiate. Interment will be in Aurora Cemetery.

Inez M. Hosier, the daughter of John and Pearl (Hedges) Druba, was born on Feb. 15, 1920, at Stockham, Neb., and passed away in Grand Island, Neb., on Feb. 22, 2012, at the age of 92.

Inez grew up in Hamilton County and attended country school through the 8th grade.

Inez married Donald Hosier, son of Ira and Anna (Mersch) Hosier on Sept. 18, 1937, in Aurora. They farmed near Giltner. Inez worked as a telephone operator in Giltner. Inez and Don celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on Sept. 18, 2009. Don passed away on Sept. 30, 2009.

Inez liked gardening and crocheting. She enjoyed watching the Animal Planet, cooking shows and old westerns on tv.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, grandson, Timothy Hosier; six brothers, Royal, Jack, Marion, Elton, Lee and infant Harold Druba and two sisters, Marie Henderson and Thelma Druba.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Darrell (Judy) Hosier of Giltner, June (Jim) Bowers, Cheri (Bill) Roach and David (Kathryn) Hosier, all of Grand Island; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Elmer Druba of Superior.
